This session will bring fund directors up to speed on recent cases before the Supreme Court and certain Circuit Courts that have potential implications for regulatory agencies, including SEC rulemaking authority and administrative proceedings. 

Among other things, this webinar will review the Supreme Court decision in which the Court ruled against the SEC, finding that defendants who are facing civil penalties for securities fraud have a right to a jury trial. The webinar also will address the Supreme Court decision overturning the Chevron doctrine, which required courts to defer to reasonable agency interpretations of ambiguous statutes.

Panelists will discuss what fund directors should know about these cases and their relevance to the fund industry.
