Welcome to Foundations for Fund Directors®—the orientation program designed to prepare newer independent fund directors to succeed in their role, bolster their fundamental skills, and accelerate the transition into their responsibilities. Created for directors with up to five years of experience, the program has two parts: an online course and an interactive session.
Through the online course—taken ahead of the interactive session—directors learn about their fundamental responsibilities by participating in a series of interactive training modules. The online course takes between one and two hours to complete.
At the interactive session, directors engage in two days of collaborative, hands-on learning through case studies and group discussion—to build on learning from the online course. The interactive session is held several times a year either in-person or virtually.

Eligibility
The program is designed for independent directors of ICI member funds with up to five years of experience. If you are uncertain of your status or the status of your firm’s membership, please contact IDC’s Conference team to clarify.
One Course, Two Components
Foundations for Fund Directors is a single program with two components. One price covers registration for both components.
Registration Deadline
There is no deadline to register, but space is limited. Anyone who registers after we reach capacity will be placed on a waitlist. We will contact you if space becomes available. If no space becomes available, you will be given priority to register for the next session.
